See my latest abstract oil paintings!
I paint to try to bring a little bit of brightness into a rough world. I did all of this work while also recovering from a bad spine injury, hoping to inspire others to follow their creative aspirations. I use layering in my oil paintings to give them a gritty texture.
I always enjoyed drawing when I was young. In college, I took a couple of painting classes, and that's where I got hooked on oil painting. From there, I taught myself and developed my own style of abstract art. Some of my influences are van Gogh, Monet, Pollock, and Kahlo.
My main focus is painting, but drawing is cool too. Oil paint is usually what I'm working with. I often paint with my hands or with an old, hardened paintbrush that’s never been cleaned.
I like to experiment with layering, different shapes, and different color combinations. The paintings often look a lot different from close up and far away. There's usually a lot going on underneath the surface.
If you're interested in buying one of my impressionistic or abstract oil paintings, please feel free to get in touch.
