I paint with the intention of bringing positivity into a rough world. Despite dealing with a spine injury, I've dedicated myself to producing this body of work, hoping to motivate others to pursue their creative passions. Through the technique of layering, I aim to provide a gritty, textured depth to my oil paintings.
I always enjoyed drawing when I was young. In college, I took a couple of painting classes, and that's where I got hooked on oil painting. From there, I taught myself and developed my own style. Some of my influences are van Gogh, Monet, Pollock, and Kahlo.
My main focus is painting, but drawing is cool too. Oil paint is usually what I'm working with. I often paint with my hands, a palette knife, or an old, hardened paintbrush that’s never been cleaned.
I like to experiment with layering, different shapes, and different color combinations. The paintings often look a lot different from close up and far away. There's usually a lot going on underneath the surface.
